Pubs should be welcoming, unpretentious places and the food we offer will always reflect this. But the classics become even more memorable when you cook them with care and only use fantastic, fresh ingredients. We’re lucky enough to have an incredible bounty of the UK’s best fish and seafood, quite literally a few quay steps away. It would be rude to ignore it. To do the food and the pub justice, we always keep a proper selection of wines, craft ales and ciders available.

David learnt his trade under Mark Prescott, formerly with the Roux brothers at La Gavroche, and has cheffed in a string of top restaurants including The Mulberry Tree at Wrightington, won numerous awards and rosettes as executive chef across six restaurants including The Crab in Chievely, and worked under Richard Corrigan at the Michelin star Lindsay House in Soho. He only has two food rules…
